The scope of the annual Daimansai reprinted book 'Kidan' kashi-hon series is expanding this year.
Getting a new look on an even deeper level, we've decided to reprint Akahon!
As an adviser on the original kashi-hon manga version of Hinomaru Bunko, Masami Kuroda helped with the launch of the short magazine Kage, and it is well known that he contributed to the birth and growth of a dramatic manga style known as 'gekiga'. This reprint is of his Akahon works Roppon Yubi and Kaijin Kage Otoko.
Born into the space between kamishibai picture shows and kashi-hon manga, this was another stream of manga that was almost forgotten from history. Don't miss out on your chance to see the plentiful world of Akahon.

※ Coming on May 4 (Saturday) 2019. To commemorate the publication of Kaiki Akahon Kidan Roppon Yubi / Kaijin Kage Otoko, there will be a special talkshow in the lobby of the Daimansai Festival (in Nakano Sun Plaza) featuring Masahiro Takahashi (Manga Collector), Tokushige Kawakatsu (Manga Artist) and Yujiro Tsujinaka (Mandarake Vice President). It will start at 12:00 and last for about one hour. Entry is free, so be sure come and enjoy the event.
