It's been more than fifteen years since his passing

It's been more than fifteen years since his passing and this mysterious authors works are generally out of print.
While eagle eyed enthusiastic fans search throughout used bookstores, there are still unpublished works.
Marina Shirakawa tackled with the 'Yokaikai Monogatari' as his life-work while he was still alive.
The commentary is by anthologist Masao Higashi. He sheds light on Shirakawa as a yokai expert, and explains his appeal.

The binding is by September Cowboy (Hidenori Yoshioka). The cover is coated with gold-leaf and printed with 2 colors and the main text uses 6 different kinds of paper, personifying Shirakawa's world.

It also includes a special appendix called the 'Shinryaku Kinoko Shimbun'. A must-read for enthusiasts, it gives an introduction to the unknown world of Shirakawa.
It also includes a short manga that very few people would have read when it was published in the 90s.

Author's Profile

Marina Shirakawa (白川まり奈)

Born in Nagasaki prefecture in 1940. Died in 2000. After leaving Musashino Art University prematurely, worked as an illustrator and manga artist.
Several occult and science fiction works published under Akebono Publishing Co., Ltd and Hibari Shobo (closed for business in 2004).
In 2016, while many authors were out of print, a dreamlike unpublished manuscript was uncovered.
Now, what is said to be Marina Shirakawa's lifework "Shirakawa Marina - Yokaikai Monogatari" has been published.
